15 Day Book Blogger Challenge Day 4
The Book Blogger Challenge is hosted by April at Good Books & Good Wine. Stop by her blog to sign up for this fun blogging challenge!!
Day Four’s Challenge asks: What was the last book you flung across the room.
As I’m more of a digital book reader, either audio or ebook format, it’s been a while since I physically flung a book anywhere. So instead I will talk about books I would like to fling across the room. Those would be each and every book that ends in a stupid cliffhanger. I get SO frustrated with this new trend. Most of the fantasy series’ I’m used to reading have books that each can almost be read as standalones. Each one a complete story but all tied together with a larger plot thread. Why can’t it still be like that instead of these cliffhanger endings in books that should NEVER have been split into trilogies but condensed into ONE satisfying read. I would like to chuck the lot of them off a bridge along with whoever decided that cliffhangers should be utilized as a marketing ploy. ---- Well, that was quite a bit more rant-tastic than the challenge question warranted! lol
To name one specific book that I would have liked to have flung off a bridge, I would have to name Amelia Anne is Dead and Gone. That ending was so over the top absurd and implausible that I was furious that I had wasted all of that time reading it just to get to that unsatisfactory outcome!
