So ... I'm a guy who thinks the Graveyard Book is wonderful. I too enjoy audiobooks but find them VERY expensive. Which makes me kick myself every time I get a dud. I'm looking for reviewers to help point me to the back shelves where the hidden gems hang out.

You might like these: 'Prayers for Sale.' Loosely about a young and an old woman in the mining camps in the high Rockies (above 10,000 feet) in the 1800's. This is my all time favorite recommendation.

One of the Brother Cadfael books set in England in the 1100's during the contest for the crown between King Stephen and Empress Maud. Lots of true historical events and details of life like it really was. These are mysteries starting a monk who came to the calling after a life as a soldier and traveler. I know this is / was a tv series although I've never seen it, not having a tv. I read them as they came out in the 80's. Try 'One Corpse Too Many.'

Any of the Molly Harper books on Audible ('How to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf') are a hoot.
