Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along; you don't have to be a blogger! Just do the following:
- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
- Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
My teaser this week is from Angelfall by Susan Ee, an eBook I just finished and is absolutely one of my favorite reads of 2011 and also on my list of all time favorites. I cannot wait until 1. This is released in Print format so it can find a home with my other favorites and 2. The second book in the series is released so I can read more about Raffe, my first EVER angel crush!! I’ll try to refrain from gushing further about this incredible book and post a couple teasers.
Teaser 1
It’s not that I don’t care about her. It’s just that our relationship is more complicated than the usual daughter-mother relationships. The rosy love I’m supposed to feel for her is slashed with black and splattered with various shades of gray. |
Teaser 2
He shrugs in the dim light. “Angels are violent creatures.” “So I noticed. I used to think they were all sweet and kind.” “Why would you think that? Even in your Bible, we’re harbingers of doom, willing and able to destroy entire cities. Just because we sometimes warned one or two of you beforehand doesn’t make us altruistic |
(p.s. This is available from Barnes and Noble and Amazon for only 2.99 and also as a “LendMe” NookBook, you can add me as a Nook friend at ahappybooker at gmail dot com)
What is your teaser this week?

I love your teaser tuesday image!
Here's a teaser from Read@UTS

I've been meaning to read this one for some time, but it looked like a dystopian-totalitarian-rule kinda book and I am still in my YA-urban-fantasy phase, so I kinda skipped it. Hmm, maybe now I shall get around to reading it.. Would you recommend it?
Great teasers by the way!
Just to link up my teaser:D :http://abookaliciousstory.blogspot.com/2011/10/teaser-tuesday-4-iron-fey-special-part.html
Angels... Really not my cup of tea. The only angel book that I liked is the one written by SL Naeole. Anyway, I'll check this one out. Thank you for sharing and visiting my blog.
@CYP @ A Bookalicious Story
I would absolutely recommend it, although it is sort of a dystopian type of book, as you said. But I can tell you, I don't really like books about angels but this one left me speechless! It almost reminded me of that movie Prophecy from 1995 where the angels are definitely not nice sweet feathery creatures. If you read it, let me know what you think!
@The Fairytale Nerd
Angels are not usually my thing either, not at all. But these aren't your run of the mill angels. These angels are more likely to rip your throat out than answer your prayers.
Good teasers. I especially like the second one. Thanks for visiting!
I really want to read this book now! Sounds like a really good book love the cover. Ours is about angels too.
Thanks for the teasers :).

That second teaser in particular is really to the point. Excellent.
@The Fairytale Nerd and The Happy Booker:
HUH!! Why?? Angel books are nice! If you don't mind adult novels, try Nalini Singh's Guild Hunter series. That is my favourite series of ALL TIME. And it's an angelic novel. Go try it! But maybe you like the more post-apocalyptical books, as your blog design suggests? Haha, I don't know, but I do like me some angels.:D
Brilliant teaser although the first one is sad. I'm going to check the book out thanks.
